Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
The world's largest rotating tramcar. Begin your 10-minute ride at the 2,643 ft. Valley Station and rise to the Mountain Station at 8,516 ft. In winter you can cross-country ski and snowshoe. General Patton Memorial Museum
This museum is a tribute to the more than one million men who were trained on the site for the the WWII effort. This portion of the desert is similar to North Africa, allowing Patton to train his men in the same harsh conditions that they would eventually encounter in the war. This became the world's largest military installation both in size and population stretching from Arizona to Nevada to California. The museum is housed in a 7000 square foot building.
